Thanksgiving Weekend 2018

It was an EPIC Thanksgiving Weekend here in our  home.....I am wiped but running on adrenaline and smiling all the way...lots of quality time spent with family and friends...lots of great food and drink and memories to last a lifetime...what more could we want?

Here is what it looked like....

Wednesday

Got some work done and then scooted out for one of our annual traditions- breakfast/brunch/lunch together- usually our kiddos are in tow but they had a half day of school this year.  We decided to try The Irish Cottage in Methuen and it did not disappoint.  Check them out HERE

The beauty was (and we didn't even know) that if you ordered breakfast it is half off on Wednesdays...and we did just that...friends?  I had the best omelet of my life...no joke...it had salmon, red onion, capers and cream cheese in it...I died and went to heaven!

and we may have enjoyed a cocktail with our meal ;)

Driving home, I captured the winter wonderland that is all around us here in NH....I couldn't help but admit that it is beautiful (just hate driving in it)...we had had a storm on Tuesday and driving was so scary...going to and from work...ugh!  BUT...check out the beauty here....

I finished up some work and then got cooking...more Thanksgiving prep ( I cooked one dish each night so I didn't save it all and that is how I don't get overwhelmed)

Rob getting the turkey prepped for me :)

Then I made dinner for the professional dancers our studio brings in for The Nutcracker- Rob brought it to the studio for me- this year I went with Butternut Squash Pasta, Autumn Salad, Fruit Salad and Bread.

and then later, prepped some apps for our big shindig.  We do a big Thanksgiving Eve with family and friends and this year was even more fun!  The highlight is always Rob's music...he breaks out the guitar, and the microphones and the kids were the biggest fans this year, especially when he let them sing "Baby Shark"...OMG they were in heaven!  My favorite?  When my Dad sang Margaritaville with Rob :)

The famous cupcakes were in the house!

Such a great night!

Thursday- Thanksgiving Day!

We woke up to deer in our yard- they were so beautiful!

Time to put "Tom" in the oven!

We started with our traditional breakfast- Monkey Bread of course and this year I made a new recipe and it was a big hit- Breakfast Sliders- OMG sooo delish...and I added the Trader Joe's Everything But The Bagel Seasoning of course.  You can find the recipe HERE

Then we had debated doing the Annual Turkey Trot because of record cold temps (it was only 10 degrees- EEK!)  Due to the cold, they added a 1 mile loop option and we opted for that one- so glad we did- we were so numb after!

Once we were done, it was time for the big kids to head to their Thanksgiving Dinner with their Mom's family and we got ready for Mimi, Papa Pete, Uncle Matt and Papa Bob to come over for our traditional dinner.

Pumpkin Hard Cider Dip for an appetizer along with my Mom's AMAZING Stuffed Mushrooms!

"Tom" done and looking yummy!

Family Shots!

and we wrapped up our Turkey Day with Nutcracker Hair Prep of course!

 Friday- Black Friday!

Cass and I headed out bright and early at 5:15 am as we do every year- 1st stop is always Starbucks to fuel up!

Then Old Navy (which was the BEST stop of the day- we got so many great things for our family members AND they took 50% off of your total purchase- FTW!)  After that, it was Christmas Tree Shop and Annie's Hallmark and then a stop at home to do Diana's hair and makeup for dress rehearsal :)

Then it was time for a quick breakfast at Tuscan Market-we split the salmon plate again and enjoyed cranberry mimosas...mmmmm

Then it was time to hit the mall- Pink, Claire's, Macy's and Lululemon- some were just stops with no purchases but Cass was able to snag a few more things for her girls.  Once we had shopped until we dropped (and the crowds were starting to get to me), we hit our final destination, Copper Door for lunch.

After some rest at home, we decided on a spur of the moment quick dinner with the Fourniers...hit the Crown Tavern in Manchester and enjoyed a casual meal and relished in our holiday weekend!

I debuted the sparkly heels I just snagged from Free People :)

Saturday

It was time for Nutcracker- yeah!!!  Diana was a Party Girl in the first act and a Polichinelle in the 2nd act.   Separate post coming on Nutcracker and our festivities after!

Sunday

More Nutcracker Fun.  On Sunday, Diana was a Polichinelle in the 2nd Act again :)  Stay tuned for the fun details!   Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving/Holiday Weekend!
