We were happy to be able to take the girls away for a few days at the end of February vacation. Things are hard right now. My mother-in-law is at the end of her illness and it will only be a matter of a few weeks so we welcome your prayers.
To keep the kids occupied this weekend, we lived it up at the water park at the Cape Codder Resort and Spa "on the Cape" as we say here in New England. We enjoyed some relaxing time with Beth Ann and her fam and the kids had such a ball.
We left on Thursday and came back on Saturday. We dodged one of the biggest storms of the season and we were lucky that the resort had a generator as most of the Cape got hit the worst and lost power. We felt we were completely sheltered and lucky!
On Thursday night, the Dads took the girls for a rowdy dinner right at the Hearth and Kettle at the resort and they let the moms have a night off. We headed out for our beloved oysters and hit one of the best on the Cape- The Naked Oyster. Friends, I have to tell you that the oysters were probably the best I ever had. Boy did we exhale and decompress for an hour or so. Thank you Naked Oyster and thank you Uber!
When we got back to the resort, the Moms took the big girls to the outdoor HEATED pool and hot tub- it was pure bliss! To be outside in February felt so good!
On Friday we spent most of the day and the early evening at the indoor water park again. Outside, it was a crazy storm but inside it was water park heaven. The kids never knew what was happening outside and the adults only knew when the power went out for a sec and the generator kicked in.
That night, we headed to the other restaurant at the resort, The Grand Cru Wine Bar- it was so delish and the Mamas got to enjoy one of their favorite wines of all time too!
My girls had so much fun and that warmed my heart....
Saturday, when we got home, Daddy headed to the Bruins game with Zach. My cousin Michael gave them the tickets and they were thrilled to be able to see them play the Canadians (their biggest rival)...and win! The girls snuggled up at home and watched dance movies.
On Sunday, Diana and I headed to a CCD meeting and enjoyed a Lenten activity and then we met the rest of the fam at mass. After mass, we went to the hospital to visit Grammy. We have been preparing for what is next and it is never easy. We hope you all had a great weekend.
Does your blog have a new layout and look? It looks fanstic.
