Hello Monday (March 23, 2026)

Hi Friends and Happy Monday!  Sarah and I are so glad you stopped by!  If you blogged about your weekend, come join us!  Link up below so we can see what you were up to!

Here is what our little "spring" weekend looked like...

Friday Night

The start of spring but temps still in the 40's...anyway...we will take it!  It was time for our Annual Fab Four St. Patty's Dinner at Hanover Street Chophouse...this was our 9th year...next year will be #10 so we will have to dial it up somehow..the evening did not disappoint...just what the doctor ordered!

Saturday

After a rough night of sleep, (Diana had a few friends over and they kept us up to all hours- we will never learn), we were up early.  I headed straight to Nutrition Corner for a tea...was so tired I needed someone to make my tea for me.  After that, the four of us headed to a wake for a dad in town who lost his battle with brain cancer.  One of his daughters is graduating with Diana and played hockey and his other daughter is a year older than Eva and they play softball together.  Rob coached softball with Steve- it was sad for all of us.  Our hearts are going out to his young family- just awful.

After that, Rob took Eva to see her friends in the championship basketball game.  I got cooking because I was hosting our family to celebrate my mom's birthday.  It did take me most of the day.  I stopped to take a break to chill and watch some 90210 but got back to work after an hour or so.

I made Roast Beef, Potatoes Romanoff, Gnocchi with Homemade Pomodoro Sauce, Creamed Spinach, Grilled Asparagus, and Parmesan Lemon Salad.  I served croissants on the side- one of my mom's faves.

For appetizers, My brother made an awesome salsa dip.  We all dug in to that like we had never eaten before- ha!  I had Shrimp and Lobster Cocktail- truly felt like spring!

We had a great night celebrating my mom.

Diana worked until late and then headed out to her friend's house- love that these girls found each other- really fills me with gratitude :)

Sunday

and...it was Papa Bob's Birthday the next day! We were up bright and early and took him to Mary Ann's for breakfast :)

Then he and I went to mass while Rob took Eva to a hockey tryout and Diana headed home to do her homework.

The rest of the day?  Wanna know what I did?  I rested!  I can't believe it.  I really needed it.  Rob was so happy I finally chilled.  I napped on and off...I chilled...and I watched some 90210 and some Sweet Magnolias.  It felt luxurious and it is just what I needed to get ready for this new week!

What were you all up to?

  1. There are many things I miss about having teens in the house, but sleepovers are not one of them : ) That birthday dinner sounds good! Happy birthday to your mom and Papa too. I'm glad you got some r & r this weekend, and I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. Such a hard thing for a family to lose their dad. Have a good week Holly.

  2. It sounds like a great weekend except for going to the funeral of your friend. How tragic. I'm sorry for the loss to the community and of course, family, of the man who died. The meal you made for your mom sounds so good! Great job and making her a scrumptious meal... Great pictures of the family (and of you and your friends!). Looking good, friend! Have a great Monday!
