Yes...this marks the start of the Lenten season and my favorite season in church...it is a time for me to repent and sacrifice and start anew. I am going to mass first thing and getting my ashes. We won't eat meat tonight or during any Fridays during lent. I will give up something and also try to do one act of service each week of lent. We also try to catch one of the Friday night "Stations Of The Cross" events at our church during lent.
2. Pancakes...are you a fan? Syrup or no syrup? Plain, blueberries, chocolate chips, bananas, or some other add in? Are pancakes on your menu this week?
Yes! With syrup please- just a little. Blueberry pancakes in the summertime are an absolute fave. Doesn't happen often. I probably had some, I would guess, 2-3 years ago maybe?
3. Tell us about a time recently when you felt 'spread too thin'.
September- Work- Home- Blackout- Cheer Parenting- it was alot! I look back on that time with fond memories but it was a lot at once!
4. What's your favorite jewel or gemstone? In terms of your wardrobe would we find more gem tones, pastels, black and white, or primary colors?
My favorite jewel, or maybe it is a gemstone? It is the pearl- so classy- traditional- elegant and a tad preppy. You would find mostly pastels and black and white. They are my jam
5. What responsibility do you think is hardest about being in charge?
Managing multiple schedules- meal planning and cooking on my lunch break or after work and managing the school stuff- I guess the hardest part is managing it all at once right?
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I am looking forward to a spring with lots of outdoor time...long walks on new trails and lots of buttery/banana yellow in the mix ;)

You are in a really busy season currently. I think in motherhood we often feel stretched too thin. It's all the doing, but mostly it's carrying that mental load and all that comes with it. Pearls are one of my favorites too. Have a great day Holly!
ReplyDeleteGreat point Joyce and so very true!
DeleteThere’s wisdom in knowing you can do anything, but not everything. I used to tell my daughter that she could do anything, but not always at the same time.
ReplyDeleteGreat advice!
DeleteYou are in a busy season of life and juggle lots of plates. How wonderful to work from home! That must help tremendously. Not being able to do everything is certainly true. Love following along your busy life :)
ReplyDeleteThe flexibility is such a gift!
DeleteI love how devout you are. Tom was given ashes on his forehead in the gym last year but this year the priest who works out wasn't there. That sounds weird.
ReplyDeleteI love pearls. They are so classy and timeless. I have a couple of pairs and need to wear them more.
Ha ha! Love it Amy :)
DeleteYou can do anything, but not everything...what a great reminder! You seem to manage and balance it all so well, but I am sure it does feel like a lot sometimes. You are well organized though! Hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThank you friend
DeleteThose pancakes look so good!
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine how busy your September was with everything that you had going on!
Ahh! I never thought of a pearls! They are so pretty!
I am looking forward to spring too!
Bring on spring and summer and blueberry pancakes!
DeleteYes, I feel like a lot of time, as a mom, I'm spread too thin -- either doing, motivating, or figuring out what's next in the mental load. It's a lot. And bring on spring! Are we there yet?!?! :)
