My 2026 Word Of The Year!

It's that time!  It is time to choose my word of the year for 2026....it came to me so easily this year...not sure why....but first, let's reflect on the word I chose in 2025 and that was Thrive...I liked "Thrive in 25"

Did I thrive?  I guess in some areas but I felt like I really only "survived" this year and that probably should've been my word...ha!

I thrived when it came to spending time with my girls...and with Remi...ha!  I thrived when it came to helping Diana with the college process and particularly the cheer process (can't wait to write all about this in the new year)

I also thrived when it came to my health and that was a big one...but other than that, professionally, I survived...we are going on three tough years...

I took matters into my own hands...learned a new business and started my side hustle in real estate...not sure why I always have to pick difficult things but hey...proud that I learned something new if nothing else BUT 2026 is when I will really take the bull by the horns professionally

So last year was Thrive...or Survive and in 2026...my word shall be....

It is about time that I follow my own advice and Follow the JOY...I know 2026 will bring lots of it and I am here for it...I will do my best to focus on the positive...find the JOY and upside of every day life...Follow It...Spread It and LIVE it again

  2. LOVE this Holly! JOY - yes!!! And I think the "trick" to this is truly finding joy in everything, even the hard things. Joy is not happiness because happiness is fleeting but joy can be lasting. It's an outlook, a perspective, a way of life. I LOVE it!! And "thrive" to "survive" works too. . .just because you set off down one road doesn't mean it's the road you're meant to stay on. You've go this!!
My word is "notice". It came to me in various ways toward the end of the year - mostly things I read but a few things I saw. I want "notice" to be outward - it's been brought to my attention that many of us are so focused on "us/we/self" and forgetting all that surrounds us. Last year my word was "intentional" - making sure that my words, time, resources, energy - that I used it all intentionally. I hope I made better decisions based on intentionality. . .now to really NOTICE what is happening around me. We'll see :)
Hope you've already experienced some JOY in these first days of 2026 :)

I love the word JOY and I see it as looking for the joy in the small moments, an errand with one kid, time with hub, something that makes you smile or remember someone or something. Love!

  10. I'm not sure if I will pick a word for this year, but JOY would be a top contender. I feel like I lost some of my joy/enthusiasm last year and want to get it back. Wishing you a joy filled year!
