2. Something you'll celebrate this summer?
4th of July at the lake...and it will be a very special one for reasons I can't disclose just yet...and all of the "lasts" if that makes sense...well those won't really start until the fall, when school starts, but we have senior pics for Diana scheduled in August so that will be a celebration of sorts
3. Summer tastes like? Smells like? Sounds like?
Tastes like watermelon...smells like salt water...sounds like waves crashing
4. June 18th is National Splurge Day...what's the last thing you splurged on? What might you splurge on today?
Wow....this is a tough one...I guess I splurged on two summer suits but they are essential for real estate and are coming in handy for recruiting too...not really a splurge when they are helping me make a good impression and make money!
I might splurge on a glass of wine tonight (writing this on Monday night) for a Cheer Moms meeting ;)
5. Share a favorite summer quote, saying, song lyric, or meme.
"I can see you, your brown skin shining in the sun
You got the top pulled down and the radio on, baby
I can tell you, my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone"
Don Henley- Boys of Summer

Summer truly is my favorite season...going to do my best this season to step away from the computer from time to time...splash in the pool with my girls...enjoy them...while they are here....it is going to be hard for me to unplug but it will be necessary and I know I will never regret it
You seem to do a great job every year of "summering." I love all of your summer traditions and of course I'm jelly over how close you live to the ocean :). I know you're aware of this but just to point it out again- next summer will be the one right before Diana goes away and so it will be fraught with lots of emotion and tons of things to do. Enjoy this one!! I know you will :). Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have my own pool, the closest I have ever came is a plastic paddling pool. hehehe I am determined to visit the beach this summer, it has been too long since we were last there.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have exciting times coming up. Have a fab summer!
The suit looks fab and sounds like they are needed in your line of work.
Great summer traditions. Listening to the ocean waves brings me such peace.
ReplyDeleteSalt water and waves are great summer smells and sounds! I also wrote that same song and was looking at similar outfit sets, so we are tracking on some same things this week :). Have a great summer day!
ReplyDeleteNo, I never regret putting down work to do something with my kids either. Funny how we feel pulled to the work and not them, when we know we should. I know I have had to make myself get in the pool with them recently and I always have fun!
ReplyDeleteYes! I have such great memories of pool days! We were pretty lucky that we got to enjoy all 3 on a regular basis; pool, beach, and lake; it seemed like between my friends and I one of us always had access to one of those and invited the others along.
ReplyDeleteWatermelon! Yes! I always remember eating watermelon as a kid in the summer! Plus mom let us add salt!
ReplyDeleteI'm not exactly a beach person, but the sound of the surf at the shore - could listen to that forever (I lived right on the Ocean City NJ beach for a season and it was heaven). Hope your summer is off to a great start and it sounds like it is with the fun celebrations you have planned.
ReplyDeleteSalt water is definitely a summer scent. Enjoy unplugging now and then this summer. I almost quoted The Boys of Summer in my post too...one of my favorites! Have a great summer!
