Hi Friends and Happy Hodgepodge Day! I am here for Joyce's fun linkup! She always puts together such thought provoking and entertaining questions! This week... it seems to be a BEE theme :)
Here we go...
2. Do you like honey? What's something you make or enjoy that calls for honey?
Yes I do although I don't consume it regularly. My favorite way to have honey is to pour it over some type of cheese...typically goat and enjoy with crackers...my favorite honey is truffle honey from our nearby Tuscan Market
3. "Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body." Proverbs 16:24
What's a proverb you love, or one that speaks to you or has helped you in some way?
The Bible is full of Proverbs, a whole book in fact, if that helps with your answer. The word proverb is defined as 'a short pithy saying in general use, stating a general truth or piece of advice'.
Proverbs 12:25 says, "Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up." This verse emphasizes the impact of both negative and positive emotional experiences on a person's well-being.
4. Tell us about a 'sweet' moment in your life recently that filled you with joy, gratitude, or peace.
Something that Diana had prayed about...quite hard...did not happen...well not in her timing anyway...when it finally did happen, we talked about it and wondered if God was playing a joke on her...because her prayer was answered, one year later...it reminded us both that God works in mysterious ways...and he is always in charge...feeling her joy and sharing my gratitude of course
5. When you were a child, what did you want to 'be' when you grew up? How close did you come to that?
A teacher...not even close...always think about going back to school and having a career change...probably in retirement...ha!
6. Insert your own random thought here.
One of my favorite weekends of the year is upon us...I love how Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial kickoff to summer...although our weather will not be cooperating- cold and windy here- I have ensured that we have fun plans so we are spending time with our people and living life to its fullest- we will have a nice mix of family and friend time- softball- a cookout- can't wait to recap next Tuesday!
Aww! I miss the craziness of the last days of school. You are right those days don't last and our children grow up so quickly!
ReplyDeleteI really like that proverb, it is so true! Those kind words mean a lot!
We have a long weekend here too and our weather isn't supposed to be the best but at least we're getting some rain which is very much needed.
Good morning. I’m finding it interesting that so many of us wanted to be teachers when we grew up. That speaks so much to the influence of those in education. Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteI love Memorial Day weekend too and feel like the weather often lets us down. It's the start of summer in my head, but not quite summer on the calendar. I think we're going to have a mix here so should be able to get outdoors some too. Recognizing an answer to prayer in God's timing and not our own is so encouraging. I'm glad your daughter is experiencing this and it will be something she can remind herself of down the road too. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading your answers- especially to question 3- you nailed it! It sounds like Diana is learning that there's a reason for everything and God has a plan for us that doesn't always make sense especially in challenging times... but in time it will make sense. Can't wait to read about your fun weekend! You "summer" so well no matter what the weather is :). Our weather does not look great either for the weekend; I can imagine that yours will be cooler than ours. That stinks but as you said, you can still have fun plans and make the most of it.
ReplyDeleteHOLY COW - that's a lot of prom people!!! LOL - Hope they all had a great time!
ReplyDeleteSo grateful to hear Diana is experiencing joy again. Can you share what the cause is? I know I , and I am sure many others on here, prayed for her during her breakup. Love reading your post!
ReplyDeleteI am so bummed about our weather this week and weekend! But I was remembering today that we've had quite a few cool and rainy holiday weekends these past couple of summers. It doesn't make them any less fun but somehow it's hard to think of it as the unofficial start to summer when it's not warm and sunny.
ReplyDeleteI love how you captured the busy, yet joyful end-of-school-year vibe — those moments really are special, even if a bit hectic! And truffle honey with goat cheese? That sounds absolutely divine. I might have to try that combo soon. Proverbs 12:25 is such a beautiful reminder about the power of kind words — especially in times of anxiety. Your story about Diana’s prayer is so touching; it’s true that God’s timing often surprises us, but it always brings perspective and peace.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Memorial Day Weekend as the unofficial start of summer feels just right — even if the weather doesn’t cooperate, it sounds like you have a great plan to soak up quality time with loved ones. Thanks for sharing your sweet moments!

Honey with goat cheese is so yummy! I always love to see that on a grazing board! Love the proverb you shared and the explanation - reminded me to be generous with kind and encouraging words to others, because you just never know how a small interaction like that can cheer someone up and keep them going. I've been the recipient of those life-giving words and I hope I've passed on the blessing too. Have a great week and a great Memorial Day weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love the Proverb you shared and such an encouragement to be reminded of the timing of God's answered prayers. It will be rainy here for Memorial Day and a little cooler. Yay for summer though! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all of your answers. I love honey with goat cheese as well.
