Hi Friends! I am excited that it is the end of January- I dislike winter greatly so we are one step closer to Spring-woohoo! Anyway...it was a cozy and low key month and just what the doctor ordered. Here is what has been up with us!
What We're Eating This Week
Monday- Lemon Basil Stuffed Chicken (with rice for kiddos)
Tuesday- Peppered Beef and Broccoli
Wednesday- Grilled Fish/Fish Sticks for Eva, Brussel Sprouts and Waffle Fries for Kids
Thursday- Breakfast for Dinner- Pancakes, Chicken Sausage and Berries/Omelet for Mama
Friday- Pizza and Salad Night!
What I'm Reminiscing About
Rob is finishing up his final term as a School Board Member. He has been on the board for NINE years...he ran and was elected for three, three year terms. We have been reminiscing lately about the good times and some of the crazy times...there are certain things we will miss and certain things that we will be glad to see over but overall it was a special time and an honor
Here is a trip down memory lane
2014- his first time filing to run- I was pregnant with Eva- look how tiny Diana was!
Special Moments and Their Ever-Famous SB Selfies ;)
and the last time running- March 2020- right before our world shut down...
What a ride!

What We've Been Up To
We rang in the new year with a quiet dinner with friends
There has been a lot of binge watching this month- a typical January
We were excited to share this very special news for Kayla and Marshall
We said Goodbye to Dawna
Eva has been busy playing hockey and basketball and doing winter workouts for softball...
and she won her class spelling bee!
and Diana has been busy singing with her school choir, dancing at "Move For The Movement", rehearsing for a play and a musical and rehearsing for her upcoming dance competition, YAGP
and bumping into my college Bestie Sharon was awesome :)
We loved seeing Alana in her basketball game
We have been getting out to walk as much as possible on the mild winter days
I enjoyed a night out with the Dance Moms
We wished Sam a Happy Sweet 16th!
and Diana got a big ole haircut!
and we are helping Eva prepare for First Communion and Confirmation this spring!
What I'm Dreading
Tax Season (insert rolling eyes emoji here)
What I'm Working On
Surviving The Winter
That reminds me to remind you that Patty and I will be hosting our Monthly Linkup tomorrow. Join us for Monthly Musings. Our topic is "Beating The Winter Blues". Check out our questions below
What I'm Excited About
Seeing my girls doing what they love- Diana on the stage and Eva on the field/ice/court...can't wait for Spring!
What I'm Watching/Reading
So the Winter Binges I mentioned were completed over Christmas Break. Those included: The Watcher, White Lotus (Seasons 1 and 2), Dead To Me (Final Season), Firefly Lane (Season 2) and Ginny and Georgia (Season 2).
I also just wrapped up Emily in Paris (Season 3), and we are working our way through The Crown (Season 5), Last Man Standing and Blue Bloods.
I have to mention that I watched the cutest movie one night last week called "About Fate" on Netflix. It was SO CUTE...perfect sappy love story/romcom for me..highly recommend!
and my two books for January were
Live Wire by Kelly Ripa
It was meh...I think sometimes she thinks she is funnier than she is...my favorite parts were those that talked about her kids going off to college.
and
I’ll Start Again Monday- Lysa TerKeurst
Oh friends...if you have struggled with dieting over the years AND you are Christian...this is a must read...really spoke to me...very powerful and truly helpful!
What I'm Listening To
Shania Twain's Latest Album- Queen Of Me (usually prompted by Diana in the car)
(well the few songs she has released thus far anyway)
What I'm Wearing
Lounge Wear/Gym Clothes or Business Casual Attire or Jeans on the Weekends
I know I am slacking on fashion pics...I anticipate these will pick up in the spring again ;)
What I'm Doing This Weekend
Heading to a Wine Tasting down in Connecticut with some Besties...it will be good to shake up the winter a little bit for sure!
What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month
Seeing Diana in a play and watching her dance at YAGP. I am also hoping to do some fun "Valentiny" things with Eva XO
What Else Is New?
I think I covered it...what's new with YOU?
Linking up for What's Up Wednesday HERE
So many good things, Holly, even in one of your least favorite months. I didn't know Shania Twain (sp?) had a new album out. I will have to check it out. Rob's service to the school board is very impressive- what a selfless position. School board members get criticized (at least around here) pretty readily and overtly on social media. Your upcoming trip sounds fun- lots of good things until spring comes ;).
ReplyDeleteSuch a great month and all the things!! I loved that book "I'll start again Monday"!
ReplyDeleteI dislike winter also, cannot wait for warmer weather and to get some color on this bod lol And what a cute baby announcement!
ReplyDeleteWow! 9 years is a long time to serve on a school board. What an incredible commitment to the schools, the children, and the community! I love seeing the pictures of your girls doing what they love! You’ve made time for a lot of fun and family this month - fabulous! Have fun at the wine tasting!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great way to look at the last of January! I find this is the month I tend to binge and read a lot too and just relax more.
ReplyDeleteOh. My. Gosh. HOW have I never thought to bake fish sticks for Rachel when the rest of us are eating salmon (which she hates)?!?!?! You just completely revolutionized a meal for us. THANK YOU!!!!
