Hi Friends and Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Hope it was great! If you blogged today, don't forget to grab our graphic and link back up with us below!
We lived Charlie Brown all weekend long and enjoyed every minute! I swear the part of Sally was written for Diana- a perfect mix of innocence and sass- ha!
Friday Night
Diana got to the theater at 5 and we got there at 6 to wait in line for tickets- opening night ended up being the biggest crowd with over 200 people- it was a huge success and we were grateful for having family and many friends there to cheer Diana on! Nothing we are more grateful for!
and Nothing like OPENING NIGHT! :)
(A surprise visit from Beth Ann with balloons before we left the house)
and at the theater...
A few snippets...
and her big song...
Grateful for our people
Unfortunately we didn't snap pics with everyone....it is just pure craziness after the show! Our friends Jess and Joe and Beth Ann also attended as well as Diana's friends from school and most of the Middle School was there to cheer their peers on...such a great crowd that they truly appreciated!
Saturday
I was so excited to be able to have a slow start and truly enjoy our coffee together. (We let the girls sleep in) Then it was time for our date walk and we have come up with a new strategy.
The girls told us when we leave for our walk every Saturday morning, Remi gets very upset and starts howling so since he pulls us and sometimes scrapes the pads on his paws, I ordered him sneakers on Amazon. Well the first ones were too small so I gave them to Beth Ann for her dog Teddy- ha! The next pair seem to be a little big BUT he won't let us get them on him- he bites them right off- ugh!
Anyway, we decided to go out (without sneakers) and he was a happy camper for his brief walk. We then brought him home so we could go back out and walk longer and enjoy our date walk. The girls said yes he did wake them up again and he was howling but it was very low and very angry- HA!! The darn dog is never happy!
Anyway- I digress- our date walk was longer- we took another route and enjoyed a new neighborhood to us :)
Then we decided to do Troy's for breakfast..striving to keep things healthy...I LOVED my General Tao's Tofu Bowl- delish!
Then we got to relax for awhile and do things all over again. The afternoon show was at 2. We got Diana there at 12 and got to the theater at 1:15. The crowd was small but the show was great again.
(Chuck Swierad, our favorite photographer, snapped amazing pics all weekend long!)
Diana's friend Aubrey from dance came along with us and Papa Bob again :)
Then we headed to meet Mimi and Papa for a quick dinner before the final show.
The show was another great one- larger crowd again and the kids took some more creative chances with their acting- it was so fun!
We were grateful to have more friends and family there again! Cass, Lea and Michelle all came as well as Alexis, Alana, Caden and Rachel along with us diehards, Mimi, Papa, Papa Bob and us :)
The post show depression has set in of course...these kids were happy but all crying too...they are going to miss this special time....
Sunday
It was Palm Sunday. Rob and I headed to mass to enjoy the passion and we let the girls sleep in again- busy weekend with late nights! Then he headed out to attend a record show with my brother. Pidge and I dropped Diana off at the high school so she could help her cast do the breakdown and we headed to the new bagel shop in town which is amazing- the bagels taste like NY bagels! BONUS- we got to see our friends Alexis and Rachel who work there!
Then we ran to the store and got home for a bit and I whipped up a nice Sunday dinner- Lemon Chicken and Spring Gnocchi
After we picked up Diana, we came home to a lovely surprise- cookies for the girls from Auntie Janie and Uncle Lou- they were celebrating their Dance Awards :)
The rest of the day was full of REST and getting organized for our week. We are all grateful and love to see our girl doing what she loves...we are giving her some extra TLC right now to combat the sadness :)
What were YOU up to?
I'm glad that everything went well this weekend. The show looks amazing- great pics- love the one when she's in the air. I hope the memories, pictures and videos help stave off the post show blues as well as the knowledge that with her talents and passion, she will be in many more productions. Great job, mama, in getting everyone where they needed to be, fed, etc. Have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteOh, I LOVE that you went to all three shows she was in. From what I saw on Instagram, she did an AMAZING job! I hope the post-show emotions settle down soon -- the "after" is always hard. Dave and I have gone on a few unscheduled date walks and they are amazing! I love that you've kept them up so consistently for so long -- you're an inspiration.
