2022 Performance Awards

This past Sunday was one of my favorite days of the year.  It was the day of Performance Awards at Londonderry Dance Academy.  This is a program created by AAB (American Academy of Ballet) over 40 years ago!  The students test at their appropriate levels and are judged by an AAB judge from another country.  The parents and friends can actually watch this presentation live and it is always amazing to watch how the students progress at each level.

Diana started this program 4 short years ago but when I look back I can't believe how little she was and how quickly these years have flown by...really scary and sad!

Diana's First Year- Level 2 in 2018 HERE

Level 3 in 2019 HERE

Level 4 in 2020 (right before the world shut down) HERE

Level 5 for Diana and Level 1 for Eva (her first awards) in 2021- Delayed but happened in June last year HERE

and now 2022- this year- back at LDA again with Judge Carla Peniche from Cancun, Mexico and the Director of AAB, Lawrence Kaplan.  His mom started the performance awards program over 40 years ago and choreographed the 110 dances that are still used to this day!  All still so beautiful and relevant!

Mrs M made beautiful introductions

First up Eva!

She scored GOLD which is the highest you can achieve for her group level!  She was very proud of herself :)

and next up Diana!

Getting ready to hit the floor!

She scored GOLD with Distinction- the highest level you can achieve and she also received a scholarship to AAB's summer program in NYC- she won't be going this year but will be attending in future years!

So proud of each other!

Such a wonderful day!  So great to see the results of all of their hard work all year (AND maybe all of our tuition payments- HA!)
