Let's Look: How We Organize For The New Year

Hi Friends!  Excited to join Erica and Shay once again for the "Let's Look" linkup!  Linking up HERE

This month we are sharing how we get organized for the new year...one of my specialties actually!

I think I get most organized right before school starts in August and then again at the end of December and early January...I just love new beginnings..how about you?

Here are a few things I do to get organized for the new year

Organize Our Paperwork For Taxes

I know...so boring right?  We usually file our taxes in February so I want to make sure we have our ducks in a row!

Meal Plan

I definitely do my best work for this before school starts and then again in the winter...I tend to be more laid back about this during the summer

Here is our meal plan for this week:

 Monday- Big Mac Salads

Tuesday- Easy Baked Tacos, Taco Salad for Mama

Wednesday- Roasted Chicken, Broccoli and Rice in Tomato Sauce

Thursday- Breakfast for Dinner- Eggs, Sausage, Pancakes and Berries- Veggie Omelet for Mama

Friday- Pizza and Salad Night

Ah yes after all of the holiday takeout and parties and going out, I get serious again about meal planning and nutrition

Business Planning

I always project where I want to be and how I am going to get there.  When you work in a sales organization, being goal oriented is key.  I LOVE goals and lists and especially love checking things off!

Setting Goals

Some call them resolutions, I make yearly goals and keep them on my desktop. I refer to my list all year.  The things I don't accomplish will typically get carried over to the following year!

That's about it.  What do you do to get organized in the new year?

  1. I’m the same about organizing in August. My whole life has been based on a school, calendar! I love your meal plan and I do little variations for myself, too. It’s good that you write those down.

  2. I am more about goals, as well, rather than resolutions (but maybe it's just a matter of semantics?). Regarding taxes, every year I take a folder and write that year's date to it. Then any tax related paperwork that I get that year pertaining to taxes for the year, I place in it. In the following year when I start getting W2's, and tax forms from banks, investments, etc., I put it in the preceding's year folder that I already started. When it comes time to doing taxes, every document that I need *should* be in the folder already. I usually procrastinate on the taxes, even when I am pretty sure we are getting a return, until April :(. Good job on doing yours in February!

  5. Those are great ways to be ready for a new year. I need to up my tax organization. It is currently a gallon baggie on the side of our refrigerator that says “tax stuff 2021”. Jeff likes to file early, too. I always dread the day he does it, but I am thankful when he’s done.

  6. There are two times a year I’m the most organized: August and January 😆
