Wednesday Hodgepodge on Tuesday!

Hi Friends!  I am joining Joyce one day early for her weekly Hodgepodge linkup!  Always love answering her fun questions.  Here we go!

1. Are you feeling more reset, restart, or full speed ahead as we move into May? Tell us why.

Full speed in these parts...this is the season...can't stop it from approaching...embracing it...enjoying it....allowing myself all the feels!

2. Painting, sculpture, architecture, literature, cinema, theatre, music...what's your favorite form of art? Elaborate.

Theatre all the way!  We are big musical theater fans if you couldn't tell...if you have been reading for awhile then you would say duh!  Ha ha!!

3. What time is dinner at your house? How do you feel about leftovers?

We eat pretty early due to our schedules- the girls and I eat between 4 and 5 and Rob eats between 5 and 6 but some nights we all eat at different times...sports...rehearsals...jobs...I am sure you know this drill!

As far as leftovers, I really push everyone to finish them- I hate wasted food- I always tell my family it is a sin.  Makes me feel so guilty when there is so much hunger in the world.

4.What's the last thing you fell down a rabbit hole investigating?

Ha ha!!  Well I am a little embarrassed to admit it but I put on my detective hat when Diana starts talking about a new boy she is chatting with or snap chatting with OR "talking" to...I do my research so I know how much we have to worry...Rob says I am an A+ detective...I think that comes from being a Recruiter.  I have dug up some good info during these high school years- ha ha!!

5. And now for a question from the book Marilyn (Memphis Bridges) gave me...

At what are you 'self-taught?'

Along with guided instruction, I would say real estate.  I did all of my own studying and taking practice tests wherever I could find them online.  I have an awesome boss, too, who has been instrumental in my learning so that definitely helps!  In my personal and creative life, I would say the projects I am putting together for Diana's grad party- I have never been this creative in my life but I have been so inspired by things I have seen on TikTok and I get giddy when my visions come to life!

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Have you seen the new Food Pyramid yet in the U.S?  Thoughts?  I think it makes so much more sense than the old one.  Prioritizing foods with the most nutritional value and protein makes sense right?  Would love to hear your thoughts!

  1. I think the new food pyramid makes a lot of sense, though I've not done a lot of research on it. I'm just going based on the pictures of the new one I've seen versus the old pyramid. I am also a really good detective/investigator when any of the kids have a new love interest. I love the picture you posted- it's so good! Speaking of pictures- I love the ones of the girls on stage!!

  3. It is such an exciting time in you and your families life. Enjoy it.
Fantastic photos of the stage shows.
I always say to my family that wasting food is such a bad thing, everything seems to get eaten here and thankfully we have little food waste.
hahaha! That made me chuckle about playing detective when it comes boys, I have done exactly the same in the past. My girls are always impressed with how quickly I can find people online.

  4. Based on the graphic that food pyramid looks great! I am not at all surprised to hear that theater/musical theater is your favorite just like I am sure you will not be surprised to find that painting/crafting is mine.

  5. The new pyramid looks better. I haven't looked into it but the graphic makes sense. That timehop picture at the top of your blog today is so cute!! I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of all the creative work you've done for your spring events. Enjoy May...it's definitely a sprint!

  6. Eating healthy is important. I wish I adhered to a better diet younger, but that's part of growing. The sad truth is many of our foods grown aren't healthy for us with the pesticides and hormones. It's quite scary. Unfortunately, we're learning either aging or maybe it's allergies cause the tummy to not handle some foods. It's a frustrating problem, but we do the best we can. It's nice reading your responses. This is the first time in a long while to join Joyce's link up. Have a wonderful week, Holly! ~CAAC

    1. Agreed on the pesticides and hormones and don't get me started on my theory of them being the reason there is an increase in Autism, Alzheimers and ADHD- boo

  7. Putting together decorations for my daughter's grad party was a lot of fun, too! With that many photos, you can easily stick one or two embarrassing ones in!
