Wednesday Hodgepodge

Hi Friends!  I am posting Hodgepodge a day early so I can do What's Up Wednesday tomorrow...so today, I am here for Joyce's fun linkup!  Let's answer her questions...

1. Do you feel like you have a 'full plate' at the moment? In what way?

Yes!  Managing the household...managing the college process for Diana...working two jobs...volunteering...socializing with family and friends...I would say my plate is overflowing :)

2. How did you learn to cook? If you have children did you teach or encourage them to cook? Do you like to follow a recipe or is your cooking style more 'let's wing it'.

By watching my mom and later on, watching cooking shows...love Food Network...sometimes even grabbed magazines with recipes...in recent years, it has been all about Pinterest!  I have sooo many recipes pinned

I like using recipes as guidelines...not following them perfectly...my girls have watched me but haven't slowed down enough to truly learn...I hope they eventually want to and do!

3. Last time you bit off more than you could chew? Elaborate.

I would say volunteering or actually being "voluntold" to take on the role of Cheer Mom this year (I share the role with my friend Danielle)...it has been fun, don't get me wrong...but it was a lot during September/Blackout Month.

4. When did you last say 'the more the merrier' and mean it?

As I was planning our Thanksgiving Eve guest list..."the more the merrier" has turned into about 100 people- ha!

5. Write an acrostic using the word T-H-A-N-K-S.

T hankful for my family and friends

H appy to be hosting those I love

A nalyzing my Black Friday List

N eeding to Organize My Desk Again

K itchen Prep is Happening for Thanksgiving Week

S inging!  Grateful to hear Diana singing again! :)

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving however you are celebrating!

  1. You need a ¨full plate¨ crown because you´re the queen of the full plate- don´t know how you do it but do it you do and always so stylishly to boot. 100 guests- I cannot imagine- all of that on top of your already full plate!! Having twenty people over seems like a large number to me. Seriously impressed and looking forward to pics/deets. Love your acrostic. Have a great day, friend!

  3. I agree with Maria! I don’t know how you do it all. I’m too much of an introvert. 🫣🤣 we were lucky with our girls that the college near where we lived had an amazing nursing program which they both graduated from. I think we o my looked at 2. Other schools haha! Can’t wait to hear who Diana chooses! Happy Thanksgiving!

  5. Happy Thanksgiving! I don't even remember learning to cook. I know I started off slowly as I was in charge of getting dinner started back when I was in middle school or so and then my mom would take over and finish when she got home from work and eventually she just stopped taking over and I finished the whole meal. I didn't really branch out to trying new recipes until I got a house of my own though.
