Wednesday Hodgepodge

Hi Friends!  I am here with Joyce for her fun weekly linkup an we are answering her great questions below....

1. 'The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.' How does this saying ring true in your own family, either the one you grew up in or the one you made?

I love that I have traits from both of my parents- First, like my mom...my way of showing love through cooking- wanting to soak up all of the fun days with my kids- loving the theater AND high school football just as much- having a strong faith, to name a few things.  Then, like my dad...a strong work ethic, a love of golf, and being surrounded by great friends

2. Something you're nuts about these days? How about something that's driving you nuts?

Nuts about Friday Night Lights...Driving me nuts...hmmm...people who can't get out of their own way drive me nuts...sorry not sorry?  Ha!

3. What does abundance mean to you?

Living Life "To The Full"...right from the bible...making the most of the abundant gifts I have been given...living life to the fullest...enjoying every day and not taking all of our gifts for granted

4. Caramel apple-caramel cake-caramel corn-caramel sundae-caramel macchiatto...what's your caramel treat of choice?

Anything caramel...seriously...I guess I would say cake because there is a baker in the area that makes these incredible caramel apple cheesecake cupcakes and they are to die for...I also love a caramel apple martini this time of year too :)

5. What's a childhood memory that always comes to mind as the leaves start to fall?

Halloween and all of the fun and spookiness that came along with it...my mom's dinner...Trick Or Treating in the best neighborhood to grow up in...the parties...the candy...the decor...all of it

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Ok I am obsessed with Taylor's new album...have you listened yet?  Do you have a favorite song?  Mine is The Fate of Ophelia but I feel that the whole album is just amazing...love the positive vibe...reminds me of Reputation...great and catchy dance tunes

Unfortunately I Do Love...

Hi Friends!  Have you seen one of the latest TikTok trends?  The "Unfortunately I Do Love..." posts?  Well my friend Amy inspired me to jump on this bandwagon and share a few funny things...to me they may not be so funny but when I started to write them down...yes I did chuckle...would love to hear what yours are too...here we go

TikTok

Goes without saying...this post is Exhibit A...I get sucked in on the nightly

Spray Tans

I am so pale...I used to say I look like raw chicken meat...in high school I would describe my skin as almost blue because it was so white SO I fight the paleness...I mean I am 100% Italian...c'mon!!  I got blessed with the fair skin though...so yes I fight it...with spray tans..in a salon or at home...makes me feel "healthy" ha!

Ordering Salads AND Truffle Fries with my Besties- it's all about balance right?

This combo reminds me of my best friends and some of the best times we have had...our fave though?  The chicken caprese salads and truffle fries in Fort Lauderdale at the W Resort...years ago...

 Scary Documentaries

The most disturbing one for me was "There's Something Wrong With Aunt Diane." I went down the rabbit hole with that one and read all the books about this horrible case too.  More recently, "Unknown Number- The High School Catfish Caller." EEK!

Sleeping with the TV On

Bad habit...started it in college...I need the noise to relax...I have read, since, it is a sign of trauma...call it what you want but it helps me truly decompress and go to sleep

Hello Monday (October 6, 2025)

Hi Friends and Happy Monday!  As always, I am here with Sarah and we are chatting about our weekends.  Hope you will join us!

It was a Fabulous Fall Weekend for us...here is what it looked like...

Friday was Robby B's Birthday so we celebrated first thing, before work and school with donuts and gifts!

Then we all went in different directions...

Friday Night

Eva, Robby B and Papa headed to the Tsongas Arena in nearby Lowell so she could play an exhibition game with her team and then watch the UMASS Lowell game vs. Merrimack- they had a blast!

Diana had cheer practice and then I picked her up and we headed to the Taylor Swift Movie- The Making of The Life Of A Showgirl- it was FABULOUS- we had a blast!!  We are now enjoying the album and feel like we understand the meaning of each song since it is explained in the movie.  So good!

Saturday

We were up bright and early.  Eva, Robby B and Papa headed to hockey and then softball.

Diana headed out to volunteer with the youth cheer groups in town as they hosted their first comp of the season

Late morning, I headed to the Friendly Toast in Salem to meet up with my Football Mamas so we could enjoy brunch and pre-game

Then we headed over to Salem High for the big game- HUGE rivalry- we were not favored by anyone to win and guess what?

We did!!!  AND it was a shut out- 17-0!!  The JAGS are on fire!  We had so much fun...no I don't have a voice ;)

After that,  I raced home to change and freshen up and then picked up Laurel and BA and we headed to Laura's Real Estate Appreciation Party...it was the perfect weather for it and she had a great crowd.  We enjoyed some apps and a cocktail.

To cap off our night, we then headed to Suzy's event.  It was the Martorana Strong Foundation's Gala.  It was a huge success and a really fun time.  Rob's band played for the event...it was just amazing :)

Sunday

We were up bright and early and headed to Eva's softball games.

Miss Sylvie Lynn and her Mama, Kayla, joined in for the first game :)

and Big Sis Ally was there for the 2nd game!

Later on, it was time to get organized for the week, blog and take a nap.

Diana headed to work, Eva headed to a birthday party and Rob and I grabbed a quick dinner at Red's- perfect end to a really fun fall weekend!  (Check out this decked out skeleton on our drive.  LOVE the Blackout spirit in our town!) What were you all up to?
