Hi Friends and Happy Monday! I am here with Sarah and we are chatting about our weekends! If you did the same, linkup with us below!
Here is what our little summer weekend looked like...
Friday Night
It was time for Diana's Senior Pictures! We picked two locations very special to us- Prescott Park in Portsmouth (my very favorite city in America) and Wallis Sands State Park in Rye (one of our favorite beaches). My mom and I accompanied her. We thought it would be a very special time and we have been looking forward to this!
Amber DiPrima is a pro! Not only is she a family friend but she is a stellar photographer and videographer and we knew she would come through for us!
Diana has known Amber most of her life! We even did a then and now...check it out...so sweet!
You may remember, if you have been following along for awhile, Amber filmed our documentary a few years back on Diana's journey to Clara in NEDE's Nutcracker. You can check that out HERE
She is also the videographer I love to work with to film our Blackout Videos each year. You can see a couple HERE and HERE
Now...back to Friday night...the weather was perfect.
We met at Prescott Park and started there. A Pink Maxi dress was the first outfit of choice. The park is a city public park and it is maintained by the city and we think also UNH students. They do such a wonderful job growing beautiful flowers and plants and pruning and weeding...and the trees are also incredible in there! I also loved the white fence which was in the background!
After that, we walked to an adjacent garden area that had beautiful flower beds and that outfit of choice was the cheer uniform.
When we were done there, we drove over to Wallis Sands State Park which was about a 10 minute drive-not bad! It is one of our favorite beaches.
Diana's 2 Biggest Fans ;)
The first outfit there was a white dress
We wrapped up there with the fourth and final outfit- a white top and jeans
I CANNOT WAIT to see the proofs...my mom and I got into a couple of pics at the end...we are hoping we like the pic of the three generations so we have it always to remember this time.
We had a blast with Amber and I will never forget this night...it is a time of anticipation and excitement as well as wonder and emotion. I am trying to enjoy it all and very proud of our girl.
It was pretty late when we wrapped up so we headed home and Mimi headed home. Diana and I headed to Red's for a late dinner and then we crashed hard!
Saturday
Guess what? We finally made it to the beach FOR REAL...well I should rephrase that...Diana has hit the beach with friends several times this summer...this was my first time to sit on the beach and swim and sun and such...it truly is my happy place but this has been a very busy year for obvious reasons...college visits and prep...real estate...plans...anyway...I got there...Praise God
We headed right back up to Wallis Sands :)
It was sooo relaxing...well for two hours anyway...then it all changed...we pulled out our sandwiches for lunch and we were happily eating and chatting when my worst nightmare came true. I was pretty much attacked by a seagull....it came from behind me...landed on my head and chest...grabbed my sandwich and scratched me and then his friends all swarmed too as they fought over the sandwich...while they were doing that, I was screaming....Diana was in such shock but knew to hide her sandwich in her towel...and then proceeded to laugh her head off at me...people around me were saying how bad and notorious the seagulls were there...the lifeguards looked unimpressed...I promptly called Rob to tell him my nightmare...between the fear I was laughing with Diana but I just couldn't believe it happened...as you can imagine, I promptly packed us up and we left! Ahhhhh ;)
When we got home, I freshened up and changed and met Lea over at Michael's Craft Stores...she helped me get some items I will need for the Senior Cheer Mom's Buttons..and then I headed to the grocery store to pick up some items I needed to make myself dinner.
Rob, Papa and Eva were up at a hockey party on a lake...Eva had a blast tubing, fishing and playing whiffle ball with her teammates.
Diana headed to work and then I had precious alone time...can't remember the last time! I made myself an amazing dinner (homemade recipe and will share soon) and poured a glass of wine...while I ate, I listened to jazz and it definitely calmed me down!
I decompressed afterwards by starting the series "Love Life" with Anna Kendrick. I am hooked! I got half way through the first season...can't wait to watch more! As you can guess, I crashed early :)
Sunday
I was up first thing to get organized for the week. I meal planned and made the grocery list for Rob and then caught up on some cheer business and blogging.
Then the girls and I headed back to the BEACH...for our Annual Mommy Daughter Boogie Board Day!
On this day, we headed to Hampton Beach State Park where the waves are just crazy
When we got home yesterday afternoon, I made a family dinner which we all got to enjoy before Diana was off to work again.
Then Rob, Eva and I attacked her closet. We put together several bags for donations and got her all organized for the school year- feels so good- I love how excited she is about clothes this year! It cracks me up :)
Last night, I decompressed with some reading and more of Love Life.
What were you all up to?

Looking forward to seeing the pictures- it looks like a great experience with a wonderful photographer. How neat that you and your mom got in some of them. They will be wonderful keepsakes of this time period as well as the past eighteen years that you ladies have poured into Diana. The rest of your weekend sounds nice- minus the seagull attack. Something almost that bad happened to us at Lake Erie. We were attacked by sea gulls. Not fun!! Have a great Monday and thanks for the link up!
What a fun weekend! I can't wait to see the pictures from Friday night, too. I love that you took your mom with you! I am so sorry to say that I laughed over the seagull incident; that is also one of my worst nightmares! I can't believe that happened to you. Not the best way to end a day at the beach, right? Thanks for hosting us each week, my friend! xoxo
Ugh! I can feel your pain- just horrific and it actually hurt! My best friend said "of all people for that to happen to" - couldn't agree more- dying laughing :)
As horrific as it was Jen, I laughed too because you just can't make this up -ha! :)
I'd freak out too : ) Your daughter is lovely and I'm sure the pictures will be beautiful keepsakes. The light looks perfect. Your pasta looks good so definitely share the recipe. Have a nice week!
I'm so glad you were able to get a three generation photo as part of Diana's photo shoot! The outfits and location were perfect! I can only imagine how beautiful the proofs will be! I can't imagine sitting there, enjoying my sandwich on a lovely day at the beach and then being attacked by sea gulls! How traumatic! Glad it didn't stop you from your annual Boogie Board day!
Aww! It sounds like you all had a great time getting Diana's Senior pictures taken. The then and now photo is brilliant and what fantastic locations for the photos, Diana looks beautiful, you must be so proud!
It sounds like you had a lovely time at the beach until the seagull attacked, they are savage!
Other than the horrifying seagull attack it sounds like an amazing weekend. I bet those senior photos are going to be so beautiful!
Thanks so much Joyce! Yes I will definitely share :)
Thank you Laura :) Yes very traumatic- eek! Nothing will keep me away from the beach but I will be more careful with the food situation ;)
Thank you Kim! Very proud of her :)
It was! Thank you Joanne :)
Oh my goodness Holly! That sounds terrifying about the seagull. Diana looks beautiful and such pretty settings for her pictures.
It really was Marilyn- trying not to think about it- my worst fear came true! Thank you for your kind words :)
How fun for you and your mom to spend the day together while getting Diana’s pictures done! Those locations seem amazing and I can’t wait to see the photos. I just know they are going to be stunning. Yay for a beach day (minus the vicious seagulls)!!
Beautiful pictures
What a fantastic weekend you had, full of special moments and a little bit of unexpected drama.
Your seagull story is priceless! It's one of those things that feels like a nightmare in the moment, but is so funny to look back on. I'm sure you'll never forget that beach day. Good to know that you were able to end the weekend with a fun family dinner and a successful closet organization session.
Very true Benita- ha!
