Hi Friends! I am here with Joyce for her fun weekly linkup. I am linking up a day late due to Currently with Amy..but alas....I can't miss these fun questions....so here we go...
1. What's something you may do this month?
Celebrate Memorial Day? I always love to celebrate this patriotic holiday and unofficial start to summer...but we have a softball tournament that weekend...like most summer weekends so will have to get creative with timing and what we do
2. Hola! Hodgepodge Day lands just after Cinco de Mayo... how do you feel about Mexican food? What's your favorite dish? Do you make it at home or is it a strictly dine out option?
We love Mexican food. I love a good burrito or taco or Mexican dishes that use cumin and chili powder and sometimes a good mole sauce- yum! Always a sucker for a spicy mango margarita to go with these dishes too ;)
3. When the children of today grow up what do you think they'll say about this time period? What do you most hope they remember?
That we were curious but all afraid of AI....that their parents tracked them on Life 360 and other apps 24x7...ha ha!!
I would want them to remember that their parents worked from home sometimes or all the time and they liked having them there when they got home from school.
4. What advice would you give a new mother?
"The Days Are Long But The Years Are Short." When I was on maternity leave with Diana...I was chatting with a candidate one day...he told me that and no truer words have ever been spoken. Breathe...you will sleep again...and you will yearn to get these years back!
5. What's a phrase your mother often said to you? If you're a mom do you say it to your own children?
"Don't say the word hate...we don't hate anyone...hate is too negative of a word. It's not good to hate. You can say dislike greatly." I sometimes will say the same thing to my girls.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
As we are approaching Mother's Day Weekend, I want to express my gratitude for my mom and my girls who made me a mom too. I am surrounded by the best women who truly lift me up every day.
Motherhood is a gift I do not take for granted. It is the greatest gift I have ever received tied with being the daughter of a great mother who still loves to get sucked into the daily high school drama. We just shared a laugh together on Monday about us loving all the "tea" and getting sucked into all of the ups and downs. She is always the first person I want to call when something happens or the girls bring "tea" home. I don't take that for granted either.
Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful moms out there.

How wonderful to still have a mom to share the tea with... and who wants the tea :). I know you don't take it for granted or take for granted having two girls of your own plus step kids as well. You truly seem like Supermom so they are lucky to have you as well. I hope you feel loved and appreciated all day and weekend of Mother's Day :).
ReplyDeleteThank you friend and right back at ya! Love following you- one of the best!
DeleteAw, what a lovely shout out to your mom! I wish you both a wonderful Mother's day weekend. My mom should be at my house (settled in her camper for the summer) by the time we land on Saturday. It will be nice to see her and get caught up.
ReplyDeleteAww so glad you will have the summer together Joanne! Safe travels back!
DeleteYour family is fortunate to have you. You seem to love life and try to make things special for the people around you and that's a gift. My mom will be 96 this year, and it's been a bit of a rough one for her, but she's still my mama and I am so grateful to still have her in my life. And being a mom (and a Nana) is my favorite thing. I hope my grandgirls want to share the tea with me as they get older : ) Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteAww thank you Joyce- I am sure your girls will! :)
DeleteIt sounds like you have a fun summer planned. I hope you get to celebrate Memorial Day.
ReplyDeletehahaha! Life 360 keeps me calm but to be fair my girls track me on it too.
That is so true about The Days Are Long But The Years Are Short. I say that to my girls about the word hate, it is only reserved for really awful things.
Have a wonderful Mother's Day!
Hope your Mother's Day is fabulous Kim!
DeleteYou are such a present, caring and fun mom for your daughters! Hope you feel so celebrated this weekend!
