Wednesday Hodgepodge

Hi Friends and Happy Wednesday!  I am here for Joyce's fun weekly linkup.  We are answering her thoughtful questions below...so let's get to it!

1. Ice skating, skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, playing in the snow, or a snowy walk...which winter activity do you choose? Have you done any of these activities so far this winter?

A snowy walk in recent years....I have been working out more at the gym in recent weeks due to the icy conditions on our rail trail so a snowy walk would be a few weeks ago.

2. Everyone is posting pictures from ten years ago on their social media sites so let's jump on the bandwagon too. Share one photo and one thought to go with said photo from the year 2016. And maybe everyone isn't doing this, but many are and we're going to be part of the fun.

3. What's a trend you hope disappears in this new year?

Teens only communicating via Snapchat- wishful thinking right?  ;)

4. 'They' say there's a day for everything and January 21st proves it. National Granola Bar Day. Do you like granola bars? How about just regular granola? Do you like bars of other kinds?

Sure I like granola bars and regular granola but I avoid them due to the high sugar and fat content- not worth the calories in my book- I tend to go for bars with high protein that are more low carb- my two faves nowadays are Nick's and Built Bars

5.  A frozen lake, a trickling stream, a raging river, or a deep well...which one describes something about your life right now? Elaborate as much or as little as you like.

A trickling stream....slow and steady growth...professionally...personally...more successful year on tap for sure

6. Insert your own random thought here

I am here for it....in the meantime, we are enjoying our winter days this year...more than we have before...a very active January is helping the mood and bringing the JOY for sure :)

  3. I think that continued physical activity in the winter is a key (for me anyway) to avoid the winter blues. I simply do not let cold weather keep me from outside and running. Now, snowy/icy weather that is another story. Then I run on the treadmill. Gotta keep those exercise endorphins going! Love that pic from 2016 and agree about Snapchat. I wrote a whole thing about SM. Oh, and I mentioned a low carb bar. My current favorite does not have a ton of protein- 7 grams but it tastes so much like a Snickers and is super low carb. It's my new "dessert." Have a great day!

  4. Look at those little girls! Adorable. I think staying busy and moving in the winter helps a lot. We are supposed to get some sort of weather here this weekend. The lake and mountain combo make storms do funny things so it's hard to predict. I wouldn't mind a snowfall and my dog would love it! Have a great day!

    1. Do you get less snow when you are on the lake? Curious. Hope you get a dusting- that is the perfect amount as far as I am concerned :)

  7. Aww! What a sweet photo of you and your girls.
I am with you on that wishful thinking! I hate Snapchat but it's all my girls use. Ugh!
Yay! 59 days until spring doesn't seem that long and I am sure we will start to feel it before it arrives!

  9. No Snapchat, wouldn't that be amazing! I really like Built bars, too. I prefer the puffs to the regular bars. 59 days doesn't feel too long, but it is going to be a while until we get there. Hopefully the spring weather will come sooner than that!
