11 Weeks!
This is what the books are telling me:
"You're getting close to the end of the first trimester. Most of the baby's critical development will be behind you after the next couple of weeks, and the odds of miscarriage will soon drop considerably.
Measuring from the crown of his head to his rump, your 1.5-inch/ 4-centimeter fetus has all his parts, from tooth buds to toenails. Your baby is busy kicking and stretching; his movements are so fluid they look like water ballet. Fingers and toes have fully separated. Now the fetus's main task during the next six months will be to grow larger and stronger until it can survive on its own outside the womb."

27 Dresses!
So Kay and I have been dying to see 27 Dresses since seeing the previews constantly! We went today and it did not disappoint. Katherine Heigl is officially a movie star! Her character Jane was so lovable and as you know, I am a wedding psycho so it was a must see!
We really enjoyed it- very cute...lots of laughs...very romantic and just a perfect little chick flick!
We highly recommend it!!!!

Book Club January 08
So....we finally had our long awaited book club meeting to discuss Eat, Pray, Love....what I can tell you is that we ate sooo much!
Our meeting was at Tracey's house and she does everything top shelf...she made the best puff pastry, pesto appetizers and a grilled asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and cheese....I made a new cocktail meatball recipe that is made with grape jelly and chili sauce..Cass made her famous mexican dip (delish) and "Coach Lynn" brought these wonderful little grilled toasts with goat cheese and olive spread and then Laurie showed up!
She went with the theme of the book and and brought some really cool Indian food from Kashmir.
Then there was dessert! I know what you are thinking. Wasn't it supposed to be a book club meeting? Like I said, Tracey does it up!!!
We had a ball talking about the book and a thousand other things of course! We agreed to go to the movie when it comes out...I guess Julia Roberts will be playing the author- should be good!
Our next book was chosen too...we decided on "She's Come Undone" by Wally Lamb! Stay tuned.

Lucy Halliday Enters the World!
This is Baby Lucy's Blog Debut! She was born in late November but just got to come home on New Year's Eve. Lucy was only 2 lbs when she was born and has already made some progress- she is up to 4lbs now and doing well with her feedings.
Lucy is the baby girl of my best friends Ann Marie and Ish Halliday. Ann Marie battled through a very complicated pregnancy and early delivery of her little cherub.
She is doing better now and we are all grateful..it was touch and go and so scary to look at one of your best friends...your age...laying in intensive care...she is one of my heroes even more now!
Her strength is inspirational and she makes me look at all that we should be grateful for.
Little Lucy is not out of the woods yet and needs all the prayers she can get.
I am posting some pictures so you can all see this perfect little rosebud...we think she looks like Ish already! :)
Caiden Turns 1!
My godson Caiden turned 1 on Saturday and his parents threw him a swanky birthday brunch! We had so much fun snuggling this little darling...he is just so good all the time!!!!
Cory, whom many of you know, is a chef in his own right and such a fabulous cook, just outdid himself! (We also discovered that he got this talent from his mom!) Cory made awesome eggs, ham, potatoes and a french toast casserole and his mom made these wonderful quiches and a great fruit platter...just when we thought it was all out...Cory brought out a lamb roast too...outstanding!
The cake, as you will see below, was made by my very talented best friend Julie...one of Caiden's best friends, Pooh Bear, is featured on top! You will also see that Caidens pals joined in the festivities.
Julie also put together a wonderful video and photo montage of Caiden's first year- it was awesome! I am getting such good ideas :)
I can't believe it has already been a year...it seems like yesterday I was holding him in the hospital...it has been a year!
8 Weeks Today!
I am 8 weeks today! Still feeling sick...I am hoping I will feel better in 4 weeks when I hit that 12 week mark- stay tuned! As you know, it is hard for me to relax and rest but that is all I have been able to do lately..Rob and I joked this morning and said that it took pregnancy for me to slow down and act like a normal human..I actually sit down at the table and eat a bagel for breakfast (if I don't, I would get sick anyway) ha ha...anyway...1st ultrasound tomorrow...so excited!
Here is the latest on the scientific side:
Your baby has a face! Your baby's features are becoming more obvious, as his lips, tongue and nostrils, as well as the buds for 20 baby teeth are already present. The back muscles are growing along the spinal column, and his or her reproductive organs have started to form and soon will become either testes or ovaries. The arms and legs are growing and elbows and knees appear as well. The fingers and toes are starting to show but are still webbed. Your baby is about 8 - 11 mm or 0.31 - 0.43 inches in length.
The process of ossification (hardening of the bones) begins as the bones of the fingers and toes have already reached the first joint. Your baby is already getting smarter as his brain continues to develop and grow. Your baby is starting to show signs of reflex activity - an automatic response to certain types of stimuli Connecting you and your baby, the umbilical cord with all its blood vessels, is starting to function. In fact, what will be your baby's intestine is forming in the umbilical cord as well. An ultrasound done this week would show your baby's fluttering heart and reflex movements.

Happy New Year!
We enjoyed one of our favorite New Year's Eves yet. We had a great night over at Cass and Steve's. It was a great night with family and friends...Cass's awesome Mexican dip and Rob's world famous salsa...and then we did Chinese from Mei Hoo!
We had a blast playing Scene It and agreed that is definitely a Breton family game- one that needs to be purchased.
We watched the ball drop- I even stayed awake! That is saying alot since I have been crashing at 7:30 each night!
I have been feeling so nauseous all day, every day but last night for some reason, I was good.
2008 is going to be an even better year than 07 was...so grateful for everybody and everything we have!
